Pilot Bearing: Removal

  1. Remove the clutch disc and pressure plate. For additional information, refer to CLUTCH DISC AND PRESSURE PLATE  in this service information.
  2. Using the Pilot Bearing Remover, remove the pilot bearing.

  3. Inspect the pilot bearing for:
    • misalignment and looseness in the flywheel.
    • needle rollers for scoring, worn or broken needle rollers, inadequate grease or discoloration.
    • seal leakage.
