Front Side Crash Sensor: Installation

  1. Ensure crash sensor mounting bolt, washer and retaining clip are in place on sensor before installing sensor on vehicle. See Fig 2 . Position crash sensor with locator tabs aligned with opening in B-pillar sheer metal. Tighten front side crash sensor mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Connect front side crash sensor electrical connector.
  2. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
