Front Side Crash Sensor: Installation

- Ensure crash sensor mounting bolt, washer and retaining clip are in place on sensor before installing sensor on vehicle. See Fig 2 . Position crash sensor with locator tabs aligned with opening in B-pillar sheer metal. Tighten front side crash sensor mounting bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect front side crash sensor electrical connector.
- Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable air bag system devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
