Diagnostics Activating Procedure

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy.
  2. Remove air bag simulators from seat belt pretensioners and reconnect connectors. On models equipped with side curtain air bags, remove air bag simulators from side curtain air bag harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Reinstall removed trim and components.
  3. On models equipped with power seats, connect negative battery cable. On all models, move front seats to rearward position. On models equipped with power seats, disconnect negative battery cable and wait at least one minute. On all models, remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connectors. Close glove box. Remove air bag simulators from clockspring harness connectors and reconnect connectors. Install driver-side air bag module.
  4. Connect negative battery cable. With all deployable air bag system devices installed and connected, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  . Perform computer relearn procedure. See COMPUTER RELEARN  . Reprogram pre-set radio frequencies and set clock.
