Removal and Installation

NOTE: Motorcraft® Electric A/C Compressor Oil only must be used as a refrigerant system lubricant for hybrid vehicles. Addition of any oil other than Motorcraft® Electric A/C Compressor Oil to the hybrid vehicle refrigerant system will damage the electric Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor and contaminate the refrigerant system. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
Recover the refrigerant. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION & DIAGNOSTICS -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ (EXCEPT HYBRID) article.
Disconnect the condenser inlet fitting nut and disconnect the fitting.
- Discard the gasket seal.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).
Remove the lower rear A/C compressor bolt.
- To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
Remove the A/C compressor discharge fitting nut and remove the compressor-to-condenser discharge line.
- Discard the gasket seal.
- To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install a new O-ring seal and new gasket seals.
- Add the correct amount of clean electric A/C compressor oil to the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to the Refrigerant Oil Adding procedure in CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION & DIAGNOSTICS -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ (EXCEPT HYBRID) article.
Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION & DIAGNOSTICS -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ (EXCEPT HYBRID) article.
