Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deactivation and Reactivation: Reactivation

All vehicles

Remove RCM fuse 32 (10A) from the SJB.
Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.
Connect the driver seat side air bag module electrical connector and then slide and engage the seat side air bag electrical connector locking clip.

Connect the LH side air curtain module electrical connector.

Install the LH C-pillar trim cover and retainer.
Install the LH C-pillar trim cover retainer cap.
Connect the RH side air curtain module electrical connector.

Install the RH C-pillar trim cover and retainer.
Install the RH C-pillar trim cover retainer cap.
Connect the passenger seat side air bag module electrical connector and slide and engage the seat side air bag electrical connector locking clip.

NOTE: The Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip must be in the released position before installing the electrical connector. Failure to have the CPA clip in the released position may break the tabs on the clip causing DTCs to set in the Restraints Control Module (RCM).

Through the RH instrument panel side finish panel opening, connect the RH passenger air bag module electrical connector and push in to seat the CPA clip.
- Verify that the clip is fully seated.

Install the RH instrument panel side finish panel.

Through the glove compartment opening, connect the LH passenger air bag electrical connector and push in to seat the CPA clip.
- Verify that the clip is fully seated.

Attach the glove compartment damper cable.

Hybrid vehicles
Connect the knee air bag module electrical connector.

Install the steering column opening trim panel and 2 screws.
All vehicles
Install the driver air bag module. For additional information, refer to DRIVER AIR BAG MODULE in this service information.
Turn the ignition from OFF to ON.
Install RCM fuse 32 (10A) in the SJB and close the cover.

WARNING: Make sure no one is in the vehicle and there is nothing blocking or placed in front of any air bag module when the battery is connected. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury in the event of an accidental deployment.

Connect the battery ground cable.
Prove out the SRS as follows:
Turn the ignition from ON to OFF. Wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition ON and monitor the air bag warning indicator with the air bag modules installed. The air bag warning indicator will light continuously for approximately 6 seconds and then turn off. If an air bag SRS fault is detected, the air bag warning indicator will:
- fail to light.
- remain lit continuously.
- flash.
The flashing might not occur until approximately 30 seconds after the ignition has been turned from the OFF to the ON position. This is the time required to complete testing of the SRS. If the air bag warning indicator is inoperative and a SRS fault exists, a chime will sound in a pattern of 5 sets of 5 beeps. If this occurs, the air bag warning indicator and any SRS fault discovered must be diagnosed and repaired.

Clear all RCM and OCSM CMDTCs.
