Catalytic Converter - 3.0L RH: Installation

- Install the RH catalytic converter and a new gasket.
- Loosely install the 3 new nuts.
- Install the RH catalytic converter manifold brackets.
- Loosely install the bolt and 2 nuts.
- Tighten the 3 RH catalytic converter nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Install the catalytic converter manifold shield.
- Loosely install the 5 bolts.
- Tighten the RH catalytic converter manifold brackets bolt and 2 nuts.
- Tighten to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
- Tighten the catalytic converter manifold shield 5 bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the roll restrictor bolt.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- Install the HO2S and CMS. For additional information, refer to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - 3.0L (4V) -- FUSION & MILAN article.
- Install the exhaust flexible pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST FLEXIBLE PIPE - 2.5L , 3.0L in this service information.
- Install the splash shield and the pin-type retainers.
- Install the RH front wheel and tire. For additional information, refer to WHEELS & TIRES article.
NOTE:
Do not tighten the 3 new RH catalytic converter nuts at this time.
NOTE:
Do not tighten the catalytic converter manifold brackets bolt and 2 nuts at this time.
NOTE:
Do not tighten the 5 catalytic converter manifold shield bolts at this time.
NOTE:
Prior to installation, inspect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and the Catalyst Monitor Sensor (CMS) wiring harness for damage.
