Upper Intake Manifold: Removal

- Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION & FILTERING - 3.0L (4V) -- FUSION & MILAN article.
- Remove the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ article.
- Remove the EGR tube fitting from the EGR valve.
- Disconnect the electronic throttle control electrical connector.
- Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.
- Disconnect the EGR valve electrical connector and detach the wiring retainer.
- Disconnect the EVAP tube-to-EVAP canister purge valve quick connect coupling and the brake booster vacuum tube from the upper intake manifold.
- Detach the fuel tube and EVAP tube-to-EVAP canister purge valve tube retainer from the upper intake manifold.
- Detach the engine control wiring harness retainer from the upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect the PCV tube from the upper intake manifold.
- Disconnect the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector and detach the wiring retainer.
- Remove the 2 upper intake manifold support bracket bolts from the upper intake manifold.
- Remove the 7 bolts and the upper intake manifold.
- Remove and discard the gaskets.
