WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Mercury Milan and 2011 Ford Fusion. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Position the lower intake manifold and install the 8 bolts.
- Tighten in the sequence shown in the illustration to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Install the fuel rail. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING & CONTROLS - 3.0L (4V) -- FUSION & MILAN article.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING & CABLES -- FUSION, MILAN & MKZ article.
NOTE:
If the engine is repaired or replaced because of upper engine failure, typically including valve or piston damage, check the intake manifold for metal debris. If metal debris is found, install a new intake manifold. Failure to follow these instructions can result in engine damage.
NOTE:
Clean and inspect all sealing surfaces. Install new gaskets.
