DTC P2531: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit Low

P2531 - IGNITION SWITCH RUN POSITION CIRCUIT LOW

Description:  The PCM carries out a logic check on the ISP-R and ISP-R/S circuits. When the powertrain control module (PCM) detects the ISP-R circuit low when it is expected to be high, this DTC sets.
Possible Causes: 
  • ISP-R circuit open
  • ISP-R circuit short to ground
  • PCMRC circuit short to ground
  • Ignition circuit fuse
  • Damaged ignition switch
  • PCM
Diagnostic Aids:  The KEYST parameter identifier (PID) should display RUN when the ignition is in the ON position.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All GO to PINPOINT TEST B .
