P1705 - TRANSMISSION RANGE CIRCUIT NOT INDICATING PARK/NEUTRAL DURING SELF-TEST

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) checks the gear position when a key ON engine OFF (KOEO) self-test is requested. The test fails when the gear indicated by the transmission range (TR) sensor is other than PARK.
Possible Causes:
  • Gear selector not in PARK
  • Damaged TR sensor/gear selector assembly
Diagnostic Aids:  The KOER self-test executes only in PARK. Make sure the gear selector is in PARK. Repair the TR DTCs first. Make sure the sensor/gear selector assembly does not have any mechanical concerns. The KOER self-test was not executed because the transmission range (TR) sensor did not indicate PARK. Repair any TR sensor/gear selector assembly concerns. Repeat KOEO self-test with the transmission in PARK.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
