Test F: No Power In Start Position

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Lincoln Navigator, 2002 Ford Expedition, 2001 Lincoln Navigator, and 2001 Ford Expedition. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect ignition switch harness connector C250. Measure voltage between ground and ignition switch harness connector C250 terminal B4 (Light Green/Violet wire). See Figure. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Light Green/Violet wire between battery junction box and ignition switch.
  2. Test ignition switch. See IGNITION SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If ignition switch is faulty, replace ignition switch and retest system. If ignition switch is okay, repair open in Red/Light Blue wire between ignition switch and central junction box. See POWER DISTRIBUTION in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
