Test B: Unable To Enter Self-Test

NOTE: Prior to replacement of GEM module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information using NGS tester. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK .

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located below left side of instrument panel, right of steering column. Perform self-test diagnostics for GEM using NGS tester. If NGS tester communicates with GEM, replace GEM. See MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK . If NGS tester does not communicate with GEM, perform TEST A: NO COMMUNICATION WITH GENERIC ELECTRONIC MODULE .
