Lock Cylinder: Installation

  1. Install lock cylinder gear, washer, and retainer into lock cylinder bore in column housing. Ensure ignition switch is in RUN position, by rotating ignition switch shaft fully clockwise to START position, then releasing shaft. Install ignition switch while holding lock actuator at correct depth.
  2. Align lock cylinder gear keyway with slot in ignition switch shaft. Rotate NEW lock cylinder to RUN position. Press lock cylinder retaining pin inward. Install lock cylinder. Ensure lock cylinder is fully seated and aligned.
  3. Rotate lock cylinder to LOCK position to release retaining pin into hole in column housing. Install lower and upper column shrouds. Install steering wheel. Connect negative battery cable. Check AIR BAG light for proper system function.
