Bumper Cover - Rear: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING article.
  2. Remove the 2 rear bumper cover screws (1 each side).
  3. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers (1 each side).
  4. Remove the 2 rear bumper cover lower screws.
  5. Remove the 4 pin-type retainers and the luggage compartment rear trim panel.
    • Disconnect the electrical connector.

  7. Remove the push-on retainers and position the LH luggage compartment trim panel aside.
  8. Remove the 3 rear bumper cover nuts from the LH side rear panel.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

  10. Remove the spare wheel trim cover and the spare wheel.
  11. Remove the 2 rear bumper cover nuts from the RH side rear panel.
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

  13. If equipped, remove the THX audio amplifier. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article.
  14. Remove the 4 rear bumper cover nuts (2 each side).
    • To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).

  16. Position the sides of the rear bumper cover outwards and remove the rear bumper cover.
  17. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
