Removal & Installation

  1. Using a suitable suction device, remove the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Remove the pin-type retainers and the radiator cover shield.

  4. Remove the battery and battery tray. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION article.
  5. Remove the cooling module mounting bracket bolts.
    • To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
      • Slide mounting brackets off the cooling module.
  6. CAUTION: While repairing the power steering system, care should be taken to prevent the entry of foreign material or failure of the power steering components may result.
  7. Release the clamps and disconnect the 2 return hoses from the fluid cooler.
    • Clamp off the hoses to prevent excess fluid loss.
  8. Remove the upper 2 pin-type retainers from both sides of the cooling module side shields.
  9. Remove the power steering fluid cooler pin-type retainer.
  10. Position the radiator rearward, release the 2 cooler retaining clips and remove the power steering fluid cooler.

  12. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  13. Fill the power steering system. For additional information, refer to GENERAL PROCEDURES article.
