Valve Cover - RH: Installation

- Apply sealant in the location shown in illustration.
- Install a new valve cover gasket and the valve cover. Tighten the 8 studs and 3 bolts in the sequence shown in illustration.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- Raise the engine.
- Position wire harness and connect the 4 wire harness retainers to the valve cover.
- Connect the 4 RH ignition coil electrical connectors.
- Connect the PCV tube quick connect coupling to the PCV valve. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
- Connect the A/C accumulator switch electrical connector.
- Connect the 3 electronic engine control electrical connectors.
- Connect the A/C pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the PCV valve electrical connector.
- Connect the A/C compressor electrical connector.
- Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the EVAP canister purge valve. For additional information, refer to EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS article.
- Install the LH engine mount. For additional information, refer to Engine Mount - LH .
- Connect the fuel tube spring lock coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION article.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
NOTE:
If the valve cover is not installed and the fasteners tightened within 4 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned. To clean the sealing area, use silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Failure to follow this procedure can cause future oil leakage.
