Test K: Radio Interference

  1. Verify Radio Interference

    Start engine and let idle. Tune radio to station where interference is present. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect upper generator 3-pin connector. Start engine and let idle. Is interference present with the upper generator disconnected? If yes, go to next step. If no, install a new upper generator. See GENERATOR (UPPER)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.

  2. Verify There Is Radio Interference

    Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect upper generator connector. Disconnect lower generator 3-pin connector. Start engine and let idle. Is the interference still present? If yes, repair radio concern. If no, install a new lower generator. See GENERATOR (LOWER)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
