Special Operating Conditions

If your vehicle is operated in any of the following manners, you will need to carry-out some maintenance operations more frequently:

• towing a trailer or using a camper or car-top carrier.
• extensive idling and/or low-speed driving for long distances as in heavy commercial use such as delivery, taxi, patrol or livery.
• operating in dusty conditions such as unpaved or dusty roads.
• off-road operation.

If any of the above conditions apply to your vehicle operation, you will need to carry-out the following maintenance operations in addition to the operations listed in the maintenance schedule.

Towing a trailer or using a camper or car-top carrier: 

• Change the engine oil and install a new oil filter every 8,000 km (5,000 mi) or 6 months or 200 hours of engine operation (whichever comes first).
• Inspect and rotate the tires every 8,000 km (5,000 mi).

Extensive idling and/or low-speed driving for long distances as in heavy commercial use such as delivery, taxi, patrol vehicle or livery. This operating condition is for extensive maximum A/C or heater operation with the engine on in the above listed usage: 

• Change the engine oil and install a new oil filter every 8,000 km (5,000 mi) or 6 months or 200 hours of engine operation (whichever comes first).
• Inspect and rotate the tires every 8,000 km (5,000 mi).
• Install new spark plugs every 96,000 km (60,000 mi).
• Install a new cabin air filter (if equipped) as required.

Operating in dusty conditions such as unpaved or dusty roads: 

• Change the engine oil and install a new oil filter every 8,000 km (5,000 mi) or 6 months or 200 hours of engine operation (whichever comes first).
• Inspect and rotate the tires every 8,000 km (5,000 mi).
• Install a new cabin air filter (if equipped) as required.
• Install a new engine air filter as required.

Off-road operation: 

• Change the engine oil and install a new oil filter every 8,000 km (5,000 mi) or 12 months or 200 hours of engine operation.
• Inspect and rotate the tires every 8,000 km (5,000 mi).
• Install a new cabin air filter (if equipped) as required.
• Install a new engine air filter as required.
