Exhaust Manifold - RH: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING -- ESCAPE, ESCAPE HYBRID, MARINER & MARINER HYBRID .
- Remove the 3.0L RH catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER -- 3.0L RH .
- Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
- Remove the 3 exhaust manifold heat shield bolts and the heat shield.
- Remove the EGR tube fitting nut from the exhaust manifold.
- Remove and discard the 6 exhaust manifold nuts.
- Remove the exhaust manifold and discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
- Remove and discard the 6 exhaust manifold studs.
- Clean and inspect the exhaust manifold. For additional information, refer to INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION .
