Removal and Installation

Hybrid vehicles
- Remove the 2 steering column opening trim panel screws.
All vehicles
- Remove the steering column opening trim panel.NOTE: The steering column opening trim panel is held in place by retaining clips that clip into the instrument panel.
- Pull the steering column opening trim panel outward to release the retaining clips.
Fusion and Milan only
- Remove the upper steering column shroud.NOTE: Release the upper steering column shroud by pressing inward on the sides of the shroud and lifting upwards.
- From the underside of the upper steering column shroud, detach the upper steering column shroud from the instrument cluster finish panel.
MKZ
- Remove the upper steering column shroud.NOTE: Release the upper steering column shroud by pressing inward on the sides of the shroud and lifting upwards.
All vehicles
- Release the tilt lever, remove the 3 lower steering column shroud screws and then the shroud.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
