Test B: Theft Indicator Does Not Illuminate

CAUTION: Instrument cluster is a Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC). Passive anti-theft ignition key codes are programmed into HEC. Vehicle will not start without proper code. If replacing instrument cluster, it is necessary to upload HEC module configuration to NGS tester prior to removal and download HEC module configuration to new HEC. Information uploaded into NGS tester will remain in memory for 24 hours. Download configuration once new instrument cluster is installed.

Remove instrument cluster and access THEFT indicator LED. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure resistance between LED terminals in both directions. Resistance should be more than 10 k/ohms in one direction, and between 10-20 ohms with test leads reversed. If resistance is as specified, install NEW instrument cluster, repeat self-test and clear DTCs. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If resistance is not as specified, install new LED, repeat self-test and clear DTCs.
