Valve Seals: Installation

  1. Install the valve stem seal installation sleeve.

  2. Using the Valve Stem Oil Seal Installer, install the valve seal.

  3. Using the Valve Spring Compressors, install the valve spring.
    • Insert the valve spring and the valve spring retainer.
    • Compress the valve spring and install the valve collet using some grease and a small screwdriver.
    NOTE: Check the seating of the valve collet.

  4. Disconnect the compressed air supply.
  5. Install the spark plugs. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Repeat the appropriate removal and installation steps for all of the other cylinders.
  7. Coat the valve tappets with clean engine oil and insert them.
  8. Install the camshafts. For additional information, refer to Installation .
