Oil Pan - Lower: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
- Remove the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.
- Remove the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
- Remove the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
- Remove the 2 power steering pump upper mounting bolts.
- Remove the LH fan stator stand-off.
- Remove the 2 bolts and position the power steering pump aside.
- Remove the oil pan drain plug.
- Remove and discard the 2 exhaust flange nuts.
- Remove the 4 engine mount nuts.
- Remove the bolt and position the cable aside and remove the RH fan stator stand-off.
- Install the Adapter.
- Install the Engine Lifting Attachment and Heavy Duty Floor Crane.
- Raise the engine.
- Support the engine with jackstands or other suitable devices.
- Remove the 20 bolts and position back the oil pan until the oil pickup tube bolts are accessible.
- Remove the 2 bolts and position the oil pickup tube into the oil pan. Remove the oil pan.
- Remove and discard the oil pickup tube O-ring seal.
- Remove the press-in-place gasket and discard.
- Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces.
NOTE:
The front bolt will remain in the power steering pump.

Use care when raising the engine to avoid engine or body damage.
NOTE:
The oil pan bolts must be reinstalled in their original positions. Mark the location of the longer bolts to aid in installation.
