Oil Pan - Lower: Installation

  1. Install a new press-in-place gasket into the upper oil pan.

  3. Install a new O-ring seal on the oil pickup tube and position the oil pickup tube in the oil pan.

  5. Position the oil pan in the vehicle.
  6. Install the oil pan pickup tube and the 2 bolts.
    • Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).

  8. Install the oil pan and the 20 bolts.
    1. Install the 5 longer oil pan bolts.
    2. Install the remaining oil pan bolts.
    3. Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).

  10. Lower the engine.
  11. Position back the cable and install the bolt. Install the RH fan stator stand-off.
    • Tighten both to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

    NOTE: Tighten the top retaining nut first.
    NOTE: Left side shown, right side similar.
  13. Install the 4 engine mount nuts.
    • Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).

  15. Install the 2 new exhaust flange nuts.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

  17. Clean and inspect the oil pan drain plug and gasket. Install new, if necessary.

  19. Install the oil drain plug.
    • Tighten to 44 Nm (32 lb-ft).

  21. Reposition the power steering pump and install the 2 bolts.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  23. Install the LH fan stator stand-off.
    • Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

  25. Install the 2 upper power steering pump bolts.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

  27. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
  28. Install the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.
  29. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
  30. Install the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
  31. Install the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
  32. Run the engine and check for leaks.
