Oil Pan - Lower: Installation

- Install a new press-in-place gasket into the upper oil pan.
- Install a new O-ring seal on the oil pickup tube and position the oil pickup tube in the oil pan.
- Position the oil pan in the vehicle.
- Install the oil pan pickup tube and the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
- Install the oil pan and the 20 bolts.
- Install the 5 longer oil pan bolts.
- Install the remaining oil pan bolts.
- Tighten to 13 Nm (115 lb-in).
- Lower the engine.
- Position back the cable and install the bolt. Install the RH fan stator stand-off.
- Tighten both to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Install the 4 engine mount nuts.
- Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
- Install the 2 new exhaust flange nuts.
- Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
- Clean and inspect the oil pan drain plug and gasket. Install new, if necessary.
- Install the oil drain plug.
- Tighten to 44 Nm (32 lb-ft).
- Reposition the power steering pump and install the 2 bolts.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Install the LH fan stator stand-off.
- Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- Install the 2 upper power steering pump bolts.
- Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
- Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
- Install the engine cover. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION article.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
- Install the A/C compressor. For additional information, refer to CLIMATE CONTROL article.
- Install the cooling fan stator. For additional information, refer to ENGINE COOLING article.
- Run the engine and check for leaks.
NOTE:
Tighten the top retaining nut first.
