Cylinder Head: Assembly

NOTE: Lubricate the valve stem seal with clean engine oil prior to installing.
NOTE: The valve stem seal will not seat completely by hand. The valve spring compressor will seat the valve stem seal when installing the retaining keys.
  1. Install the valve stem seal.

  3. Install the valve.

  5. Install the valve spring.

  7. Install the valve spring rotator.

  9. Install the valve spring retainer keys.
    1. Install the commercially available valve spring compressor.
    2. Install the valve spring retainer keys.

    NOTE: Verify that the valve spring retaining keys are correctly seated after removal of the valve spring compressor or engine damage may occur.
  11. Remove the commercially available valve spring compressor.

  13. Install the Cylinder Head Lifting Bracket on the cylinder head.
