Battery and Cables: Notes

4.6L, 5.4L and 6.8L engine -   A 72 ampere-hour, maintenance-free battery, mounted in the forward right-hand side of the engine compartment, is standard.

The battery system consists of the following components:

The dual frame-mounted battery option includes a remotely packaged frame-mounted 78 ampere-hour, maintenance-free battery. The auxiliary frame-mounted battery is located on the right-hand frame rail to the rear of the B-pillar. The auxiliary frame-mounted battery is used to supply the trailer circuits with power when the vehicle is not running. The auxiliary frame-mounted battery is connected in parallel with the battery. The auxiliary frame-mounted battery uses the same cable as the standard battery.

6.0L engine -   Two 78 ampere-hour, maintenance-free batteries are mounted on the right-hand frame rail.
