Wheel Studs - Semi-Floating Axle: Removal

CAUTION: Never use a hammer to remove the wheel stud or damage to the axle flange, wheel bearing or hub bearing can occur.

All semi-floating axles 

  1. Remove the brake caliper anchor plate. For additional information, refer to REAR DISC BRAKE article.
  2. Index-mark and remove the brake disc.

    Dana 60 semi-floating axles 

  4. Remove the parking brake shoe adjusting screw spring.

  6. Remove the parking brake shoe adjusting screw.

    All semi-floating axles 

  8. Using the special tool, remove and discard the wheel stud.
