PINPOINT TEST L: DTCs C1305, C2769, C2778, U1901 AND U2527 - SENSOR CLUSTER CIRCUIT FAULT

NOTE:
Use the Flex Probe Kit for all test connections to prevent damage to the wiring terminals. Do not use standard multi-meter probes.
NOTE:
The longitudinal accelerometer is integral to the sensor cluster. The sensor cluster is not repairable and must be installed as an assembly.
- L1 RETRIEVE THE ABS MODULE DTCs
- Key in OFF position.
- Connect the diagnostic tool.
- Key in ON position.
- Retrieve and record any ABS module DTCs.
- Are DTCs C1305, C2769, C2778, U1901 and/or U2527 retrieved?
- YES
: For DTCs C1305 and C2769
, go to L2.
For DTCs U1901 and U2527 , go to L7.
For DTC 2778 , go to L4.
For all other DTCs , go to ABS Module DTC Chart .
- NO : The ABS system is operating correctly. The condition may have been caused by an incomplete or inaccurate calibration.
- L2 CHECK FOR CORRECT SENSOR CLUSTER INSTALLATION
- Inspect the sensor cluster for correct installation.
- Is the sensor cluster installed with the electrical connector facing toward the RH side of the vehicle?
- YES : Go to L3.
- NO : REMOVE the sensor cluster and INSTALL it with the electrical connector facing toward the RH side of the vehicle. CLEAR the DTCS. REPEAT the self-test.
- L3 CARRY OUT THE RECALIBRATION PROCEDURE NOTE: Make sure the vehicle is not on a hoist and is sitting on level ground before carrying out stability control sensor cluster calibration.
- Clear the DTCs. Carry out the sensor cluster calibration procedure using the scan tool.
- Retrieve the DTCs.
- Are any DTCs retrieved or does the recalibration procedure indicate a fault?
- L4 CHECK CIRCUITS CCA09 (VT/BN) AND RCA09 (VT/GN) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C1462
- Disconnect: Sensor Cluster C3296
- Measure the resistance between:
- ABS module C1462-39, circuit CCA09 (VT/BN), harness side and sensor cluster C3296-3, circuit CCA09 (VT/BN), harness side.
- ABS module C1462-27, circuit RCA09 (GN/VT), harness side and sensor cluster C3296-5, circuit RCA09 (GN/VT), harness side.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- YES : Go to L5.
- NO : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- L5 CHECK CIRCUITS CCA09 (VT/BN) AND RCA09 (VT/GN) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ground and:
- sensor cluster C3296-3, circuit CCA09 (VT/BN), harness side.
- sensor cluster C3296-5, circuit RCA09 (GN/VT), harness side.
- Is voltage present?
- YES : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- NO : Go to L6.
- L6 CHECK CIRCUITS CCA09 (VT/BN) AND RCA09 (VT/GN) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between ground and:
- sensor cluster C3296-3, circuit CCA09 (VT/BN), harness side.
- sensor cluster C3296-5, circuit RCA09 (GN/VT), harness side.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms for circuit CCA09 (VT/BN) and less than 5 ohms for circuit RCA09 (VT/GN)?
- YES : Go to L10.
- NO : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- L7 CHECK CIRCUITS VCA23 (BU/WH) AND VCA24 (GN/OG) FOR AN OPEN
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C1462
- Disconnect: Sensor Cluster C3296
- Measure the resistance between:
- ABS module C1462-11, circuit VCA23 (BU/WH), harness side and sensor cluster C3296-2, circuit VCA23 (BU/WH), harness side.
- ABS module C1462-26, circuit VCA24 (GN/OG), harness side and sensor cluster C3296-1, circuit VCA24 (GN/OG), harness side.
- Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
- YES : Go to L8.
- NO : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- L8 CHECK CIRCUITS VCA23 (BU/WH) AND VCA24 (GN/OG) FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Key in ON position.
- Measure the voltage between ground and:
- sensor cluster C2296-1, circuit VCA23 (BU/WH), harness side.
- sensor cluster C2296-2, circuit VCA24 (GN/OG), harness side.
- Is voltage present?
- YES : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- NO : Go to L9.
- L9 CHECK CIRCUITS VCA23 (BU/WH) AND VCA24 (GN/OG) FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Key in OFF position.
- Measure the resistance between ground and:
- sensor cluster C2296-1, circuit VCA23 (BU/WH), harness side.
- sensor cluster C2296-2, circuit VCA24 (GN/OG), harness side.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
- YES : Go to L10.
- NO : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- L10 CHECK THE ABS MODULE LONGITUDINAL ACCELERATION PARAMETER ID (PID) NOTE: The vehicle must be on level ground, not on a hoist and at a complete standstill. Any vehicle movement will result in false values for this test.
- Connect: ABS Module C1462
- Connect: Sensor Cluster C3296
- Key in ON position.
- Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: ABS Module PID
- Monitor the ABS module longitudinal acceleration PID.
- Is the ABS module longitudinal acceleration PID value between -4 and +4?
- YES : Go to L11.
- NO : CHECK the mounting of the sensor cluster. If OK, INSTALL a new sensor cluster. REFER to Stability Control Sensor Cluster . CLEAR the DTCs. CALIBRATE the ABS module. FOLLOW the scan tool directions for the calibration procedure. REPEAT the self-test.
- L11 CHECK FOR ABS MODULE OPERATION
- Key in OFF position.
- Disconnect: ABS Module C1462
- Disconnect: Sensor Cluster C3296
- Check for:
- corrosion.
- pushed-out pins.
- spread terminals.
- male-to-female harness pin alignment.
- Connect: ABS Module C1462
- Connect: Sensor Cluster C3296
- Key in ON position.
- Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
- Is the concern still present?
- YES : INSTALL a new hydraulic control unit (HCU). REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) - Hybrid . TEST the system for normal operation.
- NO : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
