Instrument Cluster (IC): Installation

  1. Position the instrument cluster (IC), connect the electrical connector and install the 4 instrument cluster (IC) screws.
  2. Position the instrument cluster (IC) finish panel, connect the instrument panel dimmer switch electrical connector, the ambient air temperature sensor (if equipped) and install the finish panel.
  3. If installing a new instrument cluster (IC), download the instrument cluster (IC) configuration information from the scan tool into the new instrument cluster (IC). For additional information, refer to Programmable Module Installation in MODULE CONFIGURATION article.
    4. NOTE: If a new instrument cluster (IC) is installed, the instrument cluster (IC) and the PCM require a parameter reset to allow the instrument cluster (IC) and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the instrument cluster (IC) and the PCM may result in a no start condition.
    NOTE: If equipped, the vehicles passive anti-theft system (PATS) keys must be programmed to the new instrument cluster (IC).
  4. If installing a new instrument cluster (IC), carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedure. For additional information, refer to ANTI-THEFT - PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) - HYBRID article.
