Removal & Installation (Control)

- Ensure the parking brake control is fully released. Relieve the tension on the parking brake system. Pull down on the parking brake intermediate cable. Insert a 5/32" (4 mm) drill bit or equivalent retainer in the parking brake control. See Fig 1.
- Remove the left front fender apron.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit at the locating hole end of the connector. See Fig 2.
- Remove the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket.
- Compress the retainer from the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket. See Fig 3.
- Remove the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the parking brake release mounting bolts. See Fig 4.
- Remove the parking brake control and front parking brake cable and conduit.
- Disconnect the parking brake signal switch harness connector.
- Remove the three parking brake control bolts. See Fig 6.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
