Removal & Installation (Control)

Ensure the parking brake control is fully released. Relieve the tension on the parking brake system. Pull down on the parking brake intermediate cable. Insert a 5/32" (4 mm) drill bit or equivalent retainer in the parking brake control. See Fig 1.
Remove the left front fender apron.
Raise and support vehicle.
Disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit at the locating hole end of the connector. See Fig 2.
Remove the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket.
- Compress the retainer from the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket. See Fig 3.
- Remove the front parking brake cable and conduit from the bracket.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the parking brake release mounting bolts. See Fig 4.
Remove the parking brake control and front parking brake cable and conduit.
- Disconnect the parking brake signal switch harness connector.
- Remove the three parking brake control bolts. See Fig 6.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
