Removal & Installation (M/T)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Ford Ranger, 2003 Ford Ranger, and 2002 Ford Ranger. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect the brake booster push rod. See Figure.
- Remove the hairpin clip.
- Separate the stoplight switch and the brake booster push rod from the brake pedal pin.
- Remove the brake booster push rod bushing.
Disconnect the Clutch Pedal Position (CPP) switch. See Fig 1.

NOTE: The clutch pedal master cylinder push rod retaining clip is not reusable.

Remove and discard the clutch pedal master cylinder push rod retaining clip. Disconnect the clutch pedal master cylinder push rod. See Fig 2.
Remove the clutch master cylinder from the brake and clutch pedal bracket by rotating it 45 degrees clockwise. See Fig 3.
Remove the bulkhead sound insulator. See Figure.
Remove the upper brake and clutch pedal bracket bolts. See Fig 4.
Remove the brake and clutch pedal bracket nuts and the brake and clutch pedal assembly. See Fig 5. Support the brake master cylinder and power brake booster in the engine compartment.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
