Master Cylinder: Reassembly

- Use clean High-Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542-AB or an equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A. Lubricate the NEW piston assembly seals.
- Carefully install the secondary and primary piston assembly. See Figure and Figure .
- Depress the primary piston. Install the snap ring. See Figure.
- On cruise control equipped vehicles, install the brake pressure switch.
- On all models, install the brake master cylinder reservoir. See Figure.
- Bleed the brake master cylinder prior to installation. See MASTER CYLINDER BLEEDING (BENCH) under MANUAL BLEEDING.
- Install the brake master cylinder. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir and install the brake master cylinder filler cap.
- Bleed the brake system. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
NOTE:
Using clean High-Performance DOT 3 Motor Vehicle Brake Fluid C6AZ-19542 or an equivalent DOT 3 brake fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A, fill brake pressure switch.
