Parking Brake

The parking brake system is a mechanical system that activates a shoe-and-drum system within the rear disc brake rotor. See Figure. The parking brake system is cable-actuated and controlled by an independent foot-operated parking brake control. The parking brake system is actuated when the parking brake control is depressed. The parking brake control applies tension to the front parking brake cable and conduit, the parking brake intermediate cable, and the parking brake cable equalizer. The parking brake cable equalizer is coupled to the right parking brake rear cable and conduit, and the left parking brake rear cable and conduit. The respective rear parking brake assemblies are then applied.

The rear wheel disc brake assembly contains a cable-actuated parking brake assembly. The parking brake system is actuated when the parking brake control is depressed. The parking brake control applies tension to the front parking brake cable and conduit, activating the parking brake assembly.
