Rear Drum Brakes

The rear drum brake uses a pedal actuated rear wheel cylinder to move the rear brake shoes against the brake drum. After initial setting, rear drum brake adjustment is maintained through periodic parking brake operation.
The drum brake system consists of the following components:
- Brake backing plate.
- Brake drum.
- Brake shoes.
- Brake shoe hold-down pins and clips.
- Brake shoe retracting springs.
- Parking brake cable.
- Parking brake lever.
- Parking brake lever pin.
- Parking brake return spring.
- Self adjuster.
- Self adjuster lever.
- Self adjuster spring.
- Wheel cylinder assembly.
