Cooler Bypass Valve: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING AND LIFTING article.
- Remove the driver side splash shield.
- Remove and discard the transmission fluid cooler tube from the pump area of the case.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube from the transaxle.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolt.
- Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler hose from the auxiliary cooler.
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler hose from the converter housing and the lower fitting of the radiator. Discard the hose.
- Remove the 2 bolts from the lower LH side of the main control cover.
NOTE:
Do not remove the steel tube from the converter housing.
