PINPOINT TEST E: DTCs U2060 AND 2062 - ECU REDUNDANT POWER CIRCUIT OR GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Mercury Mariner and 2007 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. E1 CHECK THE ABS MODULE POWER SUPPLY
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: ABS Module C1462
    • Key in ON position.
    • Fig 1: Checking Circuit For Voltage
      GF0024668Courtesy of FORD MOTOR CO.
    • Measure the voltage between ground and:
      • ABS module C1462-1, circuit 534 (YE/LG), harness side.
      • ABS module c1462-17, circuit 22 (LB/BK), harness side.
      • ABS module C1462-29, circuit 677 (LB), harness side.
      • ABS module C1462-32, circuit 483 (RD), harness side.
    • Are the voltages greater than 10 volts?
    1. YES  : Go to  E2.
    2. NO  : INSPECT BJB fuses 1 (5A), 24 (50A), 31 (50A) or SJB fuse 34 (5A). If OK, REPAIR the affected circuit(s). REPEAT the self-test.
  2. E2 CHECK CIRCUIT 57 (BK) FOR AN OPEN
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Fig 2: Checking Circuit For Open
      GF0024669Courtesy of FORD MOTOR CO.
    • Measure the resistance between ground and:
      • ABS module C1462-16, circuit 57 (BK), harness side.
      • ABS module C1462-47, circuit 57 (BK), harness side.
    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms?
    1. YES  : Go to  E3.
    2. NO  : REPAIR the affected circuit(s). REPEAT the self-test.
  3. E3 CHECK FOR CORRECT ABS MODULE OPERATION
    • Check the ABS module connector for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
      • spread terminals.
    • Connect the ABS module connector and make sure it is seated correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new HCU. REFER to Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) - Hybrid . TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTC(s). REPEAT the self-test.
