Master Cylinder: Disassembly

  1. Remove master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clean outside of master cylinder.
  2. Remove filler cap and diaphragm. Drain any remaining fluid from cylinder.
  3. Remove reservoir. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR .
  4. Remove the reservoir rubber grommets. See Fig 1.
  5. Remove the brake master cylinder fluid control valve and speed control deactivator switch. See Fig 2.
  6. Remove the snap ring and remove primary piston assembly. See Fig 3.
  7. Remove the secondary piston assembly. Carefully apply air pressure in outlet port of cylinder to remove secondary piston assembly from bore. See Fig 4.
