Removal & Installation (Fixed Pedals With A/T)

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the stoplight switch self-locking pin. See Fig 1.
  3. Slide the stoplight switch and booster push rod off the brake pedal pin. See Fig 2.
  4. Remove the bulkhead sound insulator and the brake pedal bracket nuts. See Fig 3.
  5. Remove the brake pedal bracket bolts and remove brake pedal and bracket. See Fig 4. Support the brake master cylinder and power brake booster in the engine compartment.
  6. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Bleed brakes. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
