Master Cylinder: Disassembly

NOTE: Brake pressure switch may also be referred to as speed control deactivator switch.

Remove master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Clean outside of master cylinder. Remove filler cap and diaphragm. Drain any remaining fluid from cylinder.
If equipped, remove the brake pressure switch. See Fig 1.
Remove the brake master cylinder fluid control valve. See Fig 2.
Depress the primary piston and remove the snap ring. Remove and discard the primary piston assembly. See Fig 3.
Plug the rear outlet port and, if necessary, plug the brake pressure switch port. See Fig 4. Apply compressed air into the front outlet port and remove the secondary piston assembly and discard.
