Pinpoint Test C: No Power In Run/Start

CAUTION: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.
  1. C1 CHECK CIRCUIT 1050 (LG/VT) FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    • Key in OFF position.
    • Disconnect: SJB C2280a
    • Disconnect: Ignition Switch C250

    • Measure the resistance between:
      • ignition switch C250-1 circuit 1050 (LG/VT), harness side and SJB C2280a-7 circuit 1050 (LG/VT), harness side.
      • ignition switch C250-1 circuit 1050 (LG/VT), harness side and ground.
    • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the components, and greater than 10,000 ohms to ground? 
    1. YES  : Go to  C2.
    2. NO  : REPAIR circuit 1050 (LG/VT). CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  2. C2 CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH 
    • Carry out the Ignition Switch Component Test. Refer to COMPONENT TESTING article.
    • Is the ignition switch OK? 
    1. YES  : Go to  C3.
    2. NO  : INSTALL a new ignition switch. REFER to Ignition Switch . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
  3. C3 CHECK FOR CORRECT SJB OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all the SJB connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion.
      • pushed-out pins.
      • spread terminals.
    • Connect all the SJB connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 
    1. YES  : INSTALL a new SJB. REFER to MULTIFUNCTION ELECTRONIC MODULES article.
    2. NO  : The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
