Normal Operation
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Mercury Mariner and 2007 Ford Escape. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
With the ignition switch in the START or RUN position, the instrument cluster receives voltage from the smart junction box (SJB) through circuit 3049 (BK/LG). When the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position, voltage is received from the SJB through circuit 1002 (BK/PK). With the ignition switch in the OFF position, the instrument cluster receives its keep-alive memory voltage from the SJB through circuit 956 (OG/LG). The instrument cluster grounding is through circuit 570 (BK/WH) and the indicators are grounded through circuit 57 (BK).
