Adjustment Procedure

CAUTION:
Failure to follow this procedure exactly as outlined can cause the turbocharger to overboost resulting in severe damage to the turbocharger or the engine.
NOTE:
The adjustment procedure can be performed on the vehicle. This procedure is performed with turbocharger removed from vehicle for clarity purposes only.
- Disconnect pressure line from wastegate control solenoid. Install adjustment rod end onto wastegate control solenoid, if removed.
- Press wastegate crank toward wastegate control solenoid. Fig 1. Using a pressure pump, apply 5 psi (34.5 kPa) of pressure to the actuator diaphragm.
- Turn adjustment rod until the adjustment eye slips over the wastegate crank pin with no resistance and install adjustment rod clip. See Fig 2.
- Release and reapply 5 psi (34.5 kPa) of pressure to wastegate control solenoid to verify wastegate operations.
- Tighten adjustment rod set nut to prevent wastegate control solenoid from loosing its adjustment. Disconnect pressure pump and attach pressure line to wastegate control solenoid.
