Removal & Installation

NOTE:
Spring Gauge 211-034 (T74P-3504-Y) is required to perform this procedure. See Figure.
- Remove charge air cooler inlet and outlet ducts from compressor manifold. See Figure.
- Loosen exhaust outlet pipe marmon clamp at turbocharger and pull exhaust pipe away from exhaust backpressure valve. See Fig 1.
- Disconnect backpressure valve by sliding the retaining clip toward turbocharger housing and disconnecting exhaust backpressure valve actuator rod from the exhaust backpressure valve. Remove 6 exhaust backpressure valve bolts and remove exhaust backpressure valve.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten 6 exhaust backpressure valve bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Using the Spring Gauge, adjust the control rod length until 10 lbs. (4.5 kg) of force is required to fully close the exhaust backpressure valve. See Fig 2.
