Removal & Installation

- Disconnect negative battery cable. On vehicles with dual batteries, see DUAL BATTERIES under MISCELLANEOUS. From the rear moving forward, release 4 retaining snaps and remove battery cover. Remove battery hold-down and battery.
- Disconnect filter minder electrical connector and air cleaner outlet tube.
- Remove battery tray/air cleaner assembly bolts and lift the rear of the battery tray/air cleaner assembly to disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector. Remove battery tray/air cleaner assembly.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten battery tray/air cleaner assembly bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Ensure air cleaner inlet is correctly installed through and clear of the rubber air deflector. Ensure air cleaner inlet is correctly installed in the battery tray/air cleaner assembly and the battery cover retaining snaps are locked in place.
