Throttle Body

CAUTION:
Throttle body bore and plate area have a special coating and cannot be cleaned, or possible damage to the throttle body can occur.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION AND FILTERING - 2.3L article.
- Remove the upper snow shield bolt and pin-type retainer.
- Remove the upper snow shield.
- To install, tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb-in).
- Detach the accelerator and speed control cables from the throttle body.
- Disconnect the throttle position sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts and the throttle body.
- Inspect the throttle body gasket and install new as necessary.
- To install, tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
