Installation (E550)

  1. Install fuel tank straps and retaining nuts but do not tighten at this time. Install fuel tank and the 12 fuel tank support strap bolts. Adjust straps as necessary. Tighten 12 fuel tank support strap bolt and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Connect the following:
    • Fuel lines. See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS .
    • Fuel pump and fuel tank sending unit electrical connector.
    • Fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector.
    • Evaporative Emission (EVAP) valve hose(s).
    • Fuel tank filler pipe and filler vent tube.
  3. Lower vehicle. Fill fuel tank. On vehicles with dual batteries, see DUAL BATTERIES  under MISCELLANEOUS. Perform leak check and monitor procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE  under EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS.
