Installation (4.6L & 5.4L)

  1. Install NEW injector "O" rings and lubricate with clean engine oil. Install injectors in fuel injection supply manifold. Install fuel injection supply manifold and 4 retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Connect vapor management valve hose.
  3. Install the following EGR components:

    4.6L Engines

    • EGR tube to EGR valve and exhaust manifold.
    • EGR transducer hoses.

    5.4L Engines

    • EGR tube to EGR valve and exhaust manifold.
    • EGR transducer hoses.
    • EGR vacuum hose.

    Tighten EGR tube fittings to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  4. Install crankcase vent connector and hose. Connect 8 fuel injector electrical connectors and fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose.
  5. Connect fuel lines. See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS . On vehicles with dual batteries, see DUAL BATTERIES  under MISCELLANEOUS.
