Removal & Installation (4.2L & 4.6L)

Remove engine cover. See ENGINE COVER under MISCELLANEOUS. Remove differential pressure feedback Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system.

4.2L Engine

Disconnect electrical connector and wiring harness pin-type retainer.
Remove system vacuum hoses from EGR tube.
Disconnect EGR valve tube fittings and remove EGR valve tube.

4.6L Engine

Disconnect electrical connector.
Remove sensor and hoses from the exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube.
Disconnect upper and lower fittings EGR valve tube fittings. Remove EGR valve tube.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners and EGR valve tube fittings to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
