Removal& Installation

- Disconnect negative battery cable. On vehicles with dual batteries, see DUAL BATTERIES under MISCELLANEOUS. Remove 4 air cleaner assembly bolts and loosen air cleaner outlet pipe clamp. Position air cleaner assembly to gain access to Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor electrical connector and disconnect MAF sensor electrical connector. Remove air cleaner assembly. Disconnect 2 hoses on air cleaner outlet pipe (except 4.2L), loosen clamp at throttle body and remove air cleaner outlet pipe. Remove accelerator cable splash shield.
- Disconnect speed control cable, accelerator cable and throttle control return spring. Remove accelerator cable bracket bolts and position accelerator cable bracket aside. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
- Remove throttle body bolts and remove throttle body. Discard throttle body gasket.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Clean and inspect gasket sealing surfaces. Install NEW throttle body gasket. Tighten all bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
