P2531 - Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit Low

P2531 - IGNITION SWITCH RUN POSITION CIRCUIT LOW

Description:  The PCM carries out a logic check on the ignition run and run/start circuits. When the PCM detects the run circuit low when it should be high, this DTC will set.
Possible Causes: 
  • Open ignition run circuit
  • Ignition run circuit shorted to ground
  • Ignition circuit fuse
  • Damaged ignition switch
  • Damaged PCM
Diagnostic Aids:  The KEYST PID should display RUN when the key is in the ON position.
Application  Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory 
All   refer to PINPOINT TEST FE .
